Dr.Singh graduated Magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in with a B.S. degree in Food Science before attending the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. 1945-2020

Steve Fred Graduated from Emory Dental School in 1968. Upon graduation, he started his dental career in public health service. He spent two years on a reservation treating Native Americans followed by four years in dental research and clinics at the NIH in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Fred eventually settled in Bethesda and began this private practice 1974. He ran this practice until retirement in 2015. Without his guidance, inspiration and love, we would never have been able to uphold his long legacy of quality family care and dental treatment.

Our comprehensive approach and expertise of the following dental procedures, ensures that our patients receive the best available dental care.

Exams, Cleanings and X-Rays

We provide several different levels of teeth cleanings depending on your need. We provide routine prophylatic cleanings, full mouth debridements, and deep scale cleanings. We also provide preventative services such as digital xrays, oral cancer screenings, and sealants.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a method of using leading-edge technology to straighten teeth for Functional, periodontal and esthetic reasons. Treatment is flexible, and can be used to treat a wide range of clinical situations.

Cosmetic and Esthetic Dentistry (Crowns/Veneers and Bridges)

Crowns:

A crown is designed to replace the enamel of a tooth. It may be needed to protect a weak tooth from breaking, to restore a severely worn tooth, or repair a tooth that has a significant amount of decay. There are many different types of crowns that have different advantages and/or benefits on a case by case basis, therefore we use a professional lab in fabricating these different types of crowns. We provide natural looking cosmetic crowns that restore both function and esthetics. Ultimately, a crown placed over a tooth to cover the tooth, restoring its original shape and size.

Bridges:

A bridge replaces a missing tooth by bridging the gap between teeth. A bridge is made up of crowns on either side of the gap with an artificial tooth connected in between. Bridges can be supported by natural teeth or implants. A bridge will be securely cemented to the teeth, restoring the attractive natural appearance and functionality of the tooth that was lost. Bridges can also restore your ability to properly chew and speak, maintain the shape of your face, create a more even bite, and prevent other teeth from drifting out of the correct position.

Veneers:

Veneers are thin, custom made shells of porcelain that are designed to cover the front surfaces of the teeth to improve your appearance. Veneers are bonded to the teeth, changing their color, shape, size or length. Veneers can correct teeth that are spaced, discolored, chipped, misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped.

Oral Surgery (Bone Grafting, Wisdom Tooth Removal & Extractions)

Bone Grafting:

Bone Grafting at the time of a tooth extraction will help allow you to have enough bone to support a dental implant. In cases where there is a lack of bone, it is necessary to fill in the hole where the tooth is removed with new bone at the time of extraction.

Extractions and Wisdom Tooth Removal:

In some cases, a tooth can no longer be saved and the tooth must be removed. In other cases, teeth are removed prior to orthodontic procedures. Wisdom teeth are also commonly extracted. If the tooth needing to be removed will later be replaced with an implant, bone can also be placed at the time of extraction. This will help to prepare the site for a future implant placement and in many cases will speed up the implant procedure. Dr. Singh will talk with you about ways to make your tooth extraction experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
Implant Restorations

Dental implants can be an effective method to replace one tooth or several teeth. Each implant consists of a metal anchor placed in the bone which acts as the root of the tooth and an abutment that attaches to the implant that serves as the top portion of the tooth. A crown will then be fabricated and cemented to the implant. Implants can also support a bridge, partial denture, or a full denture.

Night Guards and Mouth Guards

Night guards

Night guards can help protect your teeth and prevent further loss of tooth enamel if you grind or clench your teeth.

Mouth Guards

Protective mouth guards should be used by both children and adults who play contact sports such as football, soccer, basketball, boxing, and hockey. However, even those participating in noncontact sports (gymnastics, skateboarding, mountain biking, etc.) that could have risk of injury to themouth would also benefit from wearing a mouth guard. Mouthguards can help limit the risk of injury to the soft tissues of the mouth, avoid chipped or broken teeth, nerve damage to teeth, or even tooth loss.
Root Canal Therapy

Root canal treatment treats the nerve (pulp) of the tooth. There are several factors which contribute to the need for a root canal: trauma, gum disease, or physical irritation from deep decay, deep cracks, or very large fillings. The pulp is removed and replaced with a rubber sealant material. The tooth will then be covered with a protective crown which will reinforce the tooth against future fractures.

Several years ago, diseased or infected teeth had to be removed. In most cases today, however, this is no longer true. We believe in saving teeth rather than removing them. We make every effort to help you keep your natural teeth for a lifetime.
